With 20 hectares in vines, we grow exclusively the Pinot Noir varietal that suits this terroir —a grape as nuanced and expressive as the landscape it grows in.

TINWALD FARM

Welcome to Tinwald Farm, a 745 hectare property located in Central Otago, New Zealand, on the Wanaka-Cromwell Highway. We are situated in the South Island in the Cromwell Basin, carved by ancient glaciers and surrounded by the Southern Alps. Being more than 100 kilometres from the coast, we are located in one of New Zealand’s few continental climates.

Our farm runs from the foot of the Pisa Range, down to Awa Mata Au, the Clutha River, as it winds its way to Lake Dunstan. We farm regeneratively using practices aimed at improving our soil’s health.

We believe that healthy soil is vital for human health and for the environment. We have around 1,500 sheep, 250 Angus cattle, 20 hectares of vineyards and a team of Clydesdale horses.

Wine

Since 2021, we have crafted a single-vineyard vintage in collaboration with a skilled local winemaker.
